Jean Batten was arguably New Zealand’s greatest aviator, celebrated around the world for her heroic solo flights during the 1930s. Jean was a trail blazer, who redefined the role of women in New Zealand. Her portrait hangs in our foyer as a reminder that courage, risk taking and being prepared to do things differently, leads to breakthrough performance.
