Alliance has appointed Wayne Shaw as General Manager Safety & Processing following a global executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners. 

Alliance is the world's largest sheep meat exporter and a global leader in procuring, processing and marketing the highest quality red meat products. The business is a 100% farmer owned co-operative and exports its products to more than 65 countries across the globe.

As GM Safety & Processing Wayne will oversee Alliance’s network of seven plants which employ circa 5,000 staff and will also lead the key safety portfolio. Currently Wayne is the Chief Operating Officer - Processing and Special Projects at Harvest Road Group in Western Australia, which covers beef processing, farming, feed lots and oyster farming. Prior to Harvest Road he spent 23 years at Silver Fern Farms, with his final role as Operations Manager of SFF’s Sheep and Venison operation. There, he was responsible for 12 plants, livestock procurement, cold stores and transportation reporting and had shared responsibility for Group Engineering.  

After nine years in Australia, Wayne and his wife are looking forward to a return to New Zealand. He will start with Alliance in early December and is excited by the challenges and opportunities ahead. Wayne holds a MBA and a Bachelor of Technology in biotechnology and bioprocess engineering both from Massey University.
