Alliance has announced the appointment of Willie Wiese as General Manager Manufacturing, following an extensive international executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

Alliance Group is the world’s largest sheep meat exporter with revenues of circa $1.8b. The company produces a range of sheep meat, beef and venison products, 90% of which are sold to international customers.

In his role as General Manager Manufacturing, Willie will report to David Surveyor, Chief Executive, and be responsible for a manufacturing operation across nine plants with circa 6000 workers.

Immediately prior to joining Alliance, Willie was Chief Operating Officer for Asaleo Care, a leading Australasian consumer products company owned by Pacific Equity Partners and Norske Skog. Previously he ran a division within Amcor’s recycling business. Earlier Willie held Chief Executive and senior executive roles in South Africa in a range of industries including industrial gases, FMCG and packaging.

Willie holds Masters degrees in Engineering and Business Administration from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, as well as an electrical trade qualification.

Willie will relocate from Sydney to Christchurch to take on his new role with Alliance.
