Alliance Group appoints Chris Day as Independent Director

Alliance Group has appointed Chris Day as an Independent Director following a Board search process conducted by SEQEL Partners. 

Alliance Group is a leading food and solutions company, 100% owned by Kiwi farmers, producing quality free-range grass-fed natural lamb, beef and venison. As the world’s largest sheep meat exporter, Alliance procures, processes and markets quality red meat products to more than 65 countries across the globe and has turnover of circa $1.8 billion.

Chris brings a successful career in finance across a range of sectors including primary, energy and financial services. Most recently he was the Chief Transformation Officer for Silver Fern Farms where he reported to the Chief Executive and led a team of 130 people in a technology transformation programme. On leaving Silver Fern Farms, he spent a short period as the interim Chief Executive for New Zealand Green Investment Finance. Previously, Chris held Chief Financial Officer roles for the dual (NZX/ASX) listed Z Energy for six years and AXA New Zealand, a global insurer and retail financial services provider, for five years prior to that. Chris’ early career includes increasingly senior finance roles with New Zealand Post and the New Zealand Wool Board.

He is currently a member of the Boards of Datacom and The Institute of Directors and chairs the Audit Committee for each entity. Chris will also be appointed Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee for Alliance.

Chris is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, a Certified member of the Institute of Finance Professionals in New Zealand (INFINZ) and a Chartered member of the Institute of Directors of New Zealand.
