Asmuss Steel & Flow Control Appoints Sonya Rose as General Manager People & Culture

Asmuss Steel & Flow Control has appointed Sonya Rose as General Manager People & Culture following an executive search undertaken by SEQEL Partners.

Founded in 1920, privately-owned Asmuss has grown to become one of New Zealand’s main suppliers to some of the biggest industrial and construction projects across the country. Products include structural steel, fittings, pipes, valves and controls, plastics, hydraulics, fencing, and engineering supplies.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, Dean Brown, Sonya joins Asmuss’ Senior Leadership Team in this newly created role. The General Manager People & Culture will lead the function coupled with playing an enterprise leadership role. Sonya will contribute to determining how to best optimise the Asmuss’ network including product and sales integration, along with developing P&C and H&S strategies, and continuing to evolve engagement and culture.

Sonya brings a strong HR pedigree as a senior and strategic HR leader. She is currently Group HR Manager at the privately-owned McKay, and previously led the HR function for Turners Automotive Group.

Sonya commences with Asmuss in May 2021.
