BNZ Appoints Mai Chen as a Non-Executive Director

Mai Chen has been recently appointed to the Board of BNZ following a search by SEQEL.
Mai is currently the Managing Partner of Chen Palmer, a leading firm she co-founded specialising in public and employment law. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Auckland Law School and Chair of New Zealand Asian Leaders. Mai Chen has served on the Securities commission and on the advisory board of AMP Life Limited (NZ), on the NZ Board of Trade and Enterprise’s Beachheads programme, on the Asia New Zealand Foundation board, the Royal NZ Ballet board, and on university and polytechnic councils. She was also until early this year, inaugural chair of NZ Global Women.
Mai is the recipient of a number of accolades including Judges Panel Award and the Professional Excellence Award at the New Zealand Chinese Business Elite Awards in 2012 and Business and Entrepreneur Women of Influence Award in 2013.
