Sydney resident, Sue Bailey, has been appointed to the Board of Chorus, following a search process undertaken by SEQEL Partners. 

Sue has spent her career in the telecommunications market, working for high profile companies such as Telstra, Virgin Australia/Virgin Mobile USA, and for the last six years, Optus. From 2013 up until July this year she was a member of the Optus’ leadership team. Most recently Sue been accountable for the ‘Future of Yes’ Program, essentially a pan Optus multi-year digitisation and core system transformation project covering the mobility, broadband, telephony and entertainment streams. 

From 2010 to 2013 Sue led Virgin Mobile Australia, a high profile MVNO which became a fully owned subsidiary of Optus in 2006. She had previously overseen the Marketing and Product functions for Virgin Mobile Australia for a four year period up until the company’s sale to Optus. Sue later moved to Virgin Mobile USA as SVP Customer Propositions. Her early career included 12 years with Telstra in a range of marketing and product leadership roles. Sue holds a Graduate Diploma in Marketing (distinction) from RMIT University.
