City Rail Link appoints Nicola Mills as Chief Financial Officer

City Rail Link has appointed Nicola Mills as Chief Financial Officer following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.
The City Rail Link (CRL) is New Zealand’s largest infrastructure project and will revolutionise the customer experience and usage on Auckland’s central rail network. CRL is a 3.45km twin tunnel underground rail link up to 42 metres below the city centre, transforming the downtown Britomart Transport Centre into a two-way through-station that better connects the Auckland rail networks. The creation of this $5.4 billion infrastructure asset has brought together best of breed global and local contractors, consultancies and advisors with local expertise and labour to deliver an asset which will be transformative for Auckland.
Nicola is an experienced finance executive with over 25 years in public sector, infrastructure and professional services environments. Most recently, she was GM Financial Advisory at Auckland Council where she was responsible for leading the annual budgeting and planning cycle, monitoring capital delivery and risks, overseeing business partnering and financial management of financial reporting. During her eight-year tenure with the Auckland Council she progressed through a variety of senior roles in areas such as financial planning and analysis and business partnering. Nicola’s early career was spent with PwC where she progressed to Director level and led financial audits for a range of large listed and private entities.
Nicola holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and a post-graduate Diploma in Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Auckland and is a Chartered Accountant. She commenced with CRL in October.
