Colonial Motor Group Appoints John Journee as a Non-Executive Director

Colonial Motor Group has announced the appointment of John Journee as a Non-Executive Director following a search conducted by SEQEL Partners.
Colonial Motor Group has revenues of circa $1b and is listed on the NZX. The company is a leading distributor of both private and commercial vehicles with 19 dealerships across New Zealand covering a range of brands including Ford, Mazda, Peugeot, Citroen, Suzuki, Hyundai, Nissan and Kia, as well as Isuzu light commercial vehicles and New Holland tractors. Colonial also owns Southpac Trucks which is the New Zealand importer and retailer for DAF and Kenworth heavy vehicles.
John is an experienced senior executive who has held senior executive or Chief Executive roles in a range of retail centric organisations including The Warehouse Group and Noel Leeming. He was the Chief Executive of Noel Leeming Group for four years up until 2013 and subsequently went on to lead Southern Hospitality as well as building a governance portfolio which includes Warehouse Group and Max Fashions, and previously Powershop and Ezibuy.
