We are delighted to congratulate Rukumoana Schaafhausen who will join the Board of Contact Energy as an Independent Director following a Director search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

Rukumoana is a commercial and property lawyer, director and influential member of her iwi, Ngāti Haua. As a lawyer Rukumoana held roles with leading firms; LandCo (now Todd Property), Russell McVeagh and Glaister Ennor.

Rukumoana Chairs Waikato-Tainui and Miro Berries. She is also the Managing Director of Te Waharoa Investments and a Director of AgResearch, and is a Trustee of the Tindall Foundation and The Princes Trust. She has previously been a Director of Genesis Energy and has received a Sir Peter Blake Award for Leadership.

She will join the Board officially on 1 March 2021. This coincides with the retirement of current Director Whaimutu Dewes from the Contact Board from 31 March 2021, as announced previously.
