Farmlands Co-operative Society has appointed Andre Scheepers as Chief Digital Officer following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

Farmlands is a New Zealand based co-operative operating in the rural supplies and services sector. The business was established over 55 years ago, with the aim of providing competition in the rural retail supply sector in order to reduce farmers’ input costs. Today, Farmlands has an extensive network of 82 stores across the country and transacts more than $2.5 billion annually.

Andre brings a wealth of technology leadership experience from a range of sectors across New Zealand and his native South Africa. For the last three years Andre has held senior mandates within The Warehouse Group, and currently holds the dual roles of Chapter Area Lead – IT Services and Tribe Lead – Platforms Productivity & Development. Prior to relocating to New Zealand in 2020, Andre ran his own successful IT consultancy where he supported technology transformations up to $1 billion. Earlier roles of note include two years leading a large SAP project for AngloGold Ashanti, one of the world’s leading gold producers, and six years as Chief Information Officer for the listed supply chain management business Super Group.

Andre holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry & Biochemistry from the University of Pretoria. He joins Farmlands in February 2024.
