Farmlands Co-operative Society has recently appointed Tanya Houghton as Chief Executive Officer following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

Farmlands Co-operative is the largest buying group of its type, transacting more than 2.5 billion dollars' worth of business annually and is ranked in the top 20 companies by turnover in New Zealand. 
 
Tanya joins from MoleMap, a private equity owned medical services business with operations in NZ and Australia, where she has been CEO since 2019. Previously Tanya spent 13 years with Green Cross Group, most recently as Group COO, based in Melbourne. Green Cross is a circa $1b ASX listed retail and veterinary services company with leading brands including Animates (NZ) and Petbarn (Australia). In this role Tanya had oversight of circa 5,000 staff in 400+ locations across Australia and NZ. Earlier roles included CEO of Animates and National Operations Manager for Petbarn.
 
Tanya is a career retailer with earlier experience at Books & More, NZ Post and London Bookshops. Tanya holds a BA in English Literature from Massey University. She will be relocating to Christchurch to take on her new role in September.
