Fonterra Appoints Thomas Willig as Chief Information Security Officer

Fonterra are delighted to announce the appointment of Thomas Willig as Chief Information Security Officer following a global executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

Fonterra Co-operative is a global dairy nutrition company and a world leading dairy exporter which plays a crucial role in New Zealand’s agricultural economy. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, Thomas will have responsibility for leading the Information Security strategy and execution across Fonterra’s manufacturing sites, distribution centres, laboratories, retail stores and offices globally.

Thomas is an international Information Security leader with experience across multiple industries including aviation, manufacturing and finance. He is currently the Head of Cyber Security for Fletcher Building managing cyber security and technology risk across ANZ and the Pacific. A thought leader in the cyber security space, Thomas previously spent several years as the Information Security Manager for Air New Zealand, and was the Operational Security Lead for ASB Bank.   Originally from Germany, Thomas spent 7 years in Australia with several companies including Cisco Systems and McAfee before relocating to Auckland in 2004.

Thomas joins Fonterra in early February 2021.
