Freightways appoints Fiona Oliver as Independent Director

Freightways have announced the appointment of Fiona Oliver as an Independent Director, effective 5 July 2021, following a Board appointment process conducted by SEQEL Partners. Fiona will also stand for election at the Annual Shareholders Meeting currently scheduled to be held on 28 October 2021.
 
Fiona is a professional Director, holding governance roles across a range of business sectors including renewable energy, natural gas, technology, and financial services. She is a Director (and Audit Committee Chair) of Tilt Renewables, Gentrack Group, the First Gas Group, BNZ Life Insurance and BNZ Insurance Services and Wynyard Group (in liquidation).
 
Fiona’s executive career was in the financial services sector in New Zealand and overseas. In New Zealand, her roles included Chief Operating Officer of Westpac’s investment arm, BT Funds Management, and General Manager of AMP NZ’s Wealth Management division. In Sydney and London, Fiona managed the Risk and Operations function for AMP’s private capital division. Prior to this, Fiona was a senior corporate and commercial solicitor in New Zealand and overseas, specialising in mergers and acquisitions.
