NZX listed Genesis Energy, one of New Zealand’s leading energy companies, has appointed Hinerangi Raumati-Tu’ua to the Board after a Director search conducted by SEQEL Partners. 

Hinerangi grew up in Ngāruawāhia, attending Waikato Diocesan and the University of Waikato, prior to an early career with Beattie Rickman, a predecessor firm to PwC. She subsequently spent nine years with Tainui Group Holdings, the majority of this period as Chief Financial Officer, before moving to Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, one of New Zealand’s larger tertiary institutions as Executive Director of Operations.

Since 2014 she has devoted much of her time to Non Executive Director work, including having previously been a Director of Aotearoa Fisheries (Moana), Sealord Group, Public Trust and Auckland Council Investments and a range of Iwi entities. Her current portfolio includes Chair of Tainui Group Holdings, and a Director of Watercare and various other Māori investment entities.

Hinerangi has Bachelor and Master’s degrees from the University of Waikato in Accounting and Finance, and also attended the International Executive Programme at INSEAD in 2007.
