Friday 23 September 2022
Genesis Energy has appointed Warwick Hunt as a Non Executive Director following a Director search conducted by SEQEL Partners.
Originally from South Africa, Warwick led PwC New Zealand as Managing Partner until 2009 when he moved to the Middle East as Managing Partner for the region. This was a sizable region with revenues that grew to circa USD$1.4b under his tenure, with the firm becoming the number one advisory player in the Middle East.
He subsequently relocated to the United Kingdom in 2013 as Chief Financial Officer for the UK firm. PwC UK is a substantial business with 23,000 people and 22 offices.
Warwick later progressed through the roles of Chief Operating Officer and finally Managing Partner for the UK firm during a period of substantial growth and transformation. This included a particular focus on a digital transformation of the firm including an early move to the cloud, and leading PwC through Brexit and Covid, both of which posed significant challenges and commercial opportunities for PwC.
In tandem Warwick was also Chair of the firms’ Europe, Middle East, and Africa business which covered 126 countries, 6,000 Partners and 125,000 employees.
Warwick is Chair of Kings College Business School and recently joined the BNZ Board as a Non Executive Director.
Warwick’s appointment is effective from 22 September, and in accordance with Genesis Energy’s constitution and the NZX Listing Rules, he will retire at the Company’s Annual Shareholder Meeting to be held on 14 October 2022 and will put himself forward for election by shareholders at the meeting.
