House of Travel has appointed Shane Dermott as Chief Financial Officer following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

House of Travel is Australasia’s largest privately owned travel services business serving retail and corporate customers under six brands: House of Travel, Travel Managers, Orbit, Global Travel Network, Mix & Match, and HOOT.

Shane has spent the majority of his career in retail, working for pedigree organisations in New Zealand and the UK, and is currently CFO of The Interiors Group. Shane spent the prior six years at Number One Shoes, initially as CFO leading the finance, IT, distribution and merchandise planning functions before being promoted to COO where his scope broadened to include store operations and property. He had three years in London as International Controller then Head of Finance UK & Ireland for DSG International, a FTSE 100 business and Europe’s leading specialist electrical retailer. He commenced his career in Audit with KPMG followed by eight years with NZX listed Pacific Retail Group.

Shane holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance & Business Administration from the University of Canterbury and is an NZ Chartered Accountant. He commences with House of Travel in September.
