Kiwi Property has appointed Michele Embling as an Independent Director and Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee following a search conducted by SEQEL Partners. 

Kiwi Property is one of the largest listed property companies on the NZX owning and managing a significant real estate portfolio comprising some of New Zealand’s best mixed-use, retail and office buildings including Sylvia Park and the Vero Centre.  

Michele is an experienced Chair and Board Member for multiple private, not for profit, and public sector entities, with a previous career as a Partner with PwC. She served as Chair of PwC in New Zealand from 2016 to 2020, was a partner for 15 years and held numerous leadership, executive and governance roles within PwC in New Zealand and Asia, including appointment as the New Zealand National Assurance Leader for three years.

In terms of governance, Michele is currently Chair of the External Reporting Board (XRB), Chairs the Audit and Risk Committees for Transpower and AIA New Zealand, is the Chair for the People and Remuneration Committee for IAG New Zealand, and is a member of the Board for Toitū Tahua – The Centre for Sustainable Finance and the Financial Reporting Council in Australia.

Michele is a member and fellow of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
