Kotahi has appointed Mike Smith as General Manager Customer following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

Kotahi is New Zealand’s largest 4PL ocean freight and logistics provider - moving 30% of New Zealand’s total containerised exports each year. The business was established as a joint venture by Fonterra and Silver Fern Farms to ship New Zealand’s products around the world. By collaborating with exporters, importers, and industry partners Kotahi creates sustainable, cost effective, and efficient supply chain services.

Mike is a highly experienced sales and customer focused leader with a strong background in the logistics and supply chain sector within New Zealand. Currently Mike is General Manager Sales & Service for the Parcels & Logistics stream within NZ Post, where he has been involved in the transformation of the business from a mail company to one of New Zealand’s strongest courier brands. Prior, Mike was the General Manager Sales & Customer Experience and National Sales Manager for the Courier Post business. Earlier roles of note include four years with Vodafone NZ as the SME Sales Manager, and three years with EFTPOS NZ as National Sales & Service Manager.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the University of Otago. He commences with Kotahi on Monday 7 November.
