LIC appoints Hamish Rumbold as Director

Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) has appointed Hamish Rumbold as Director following a Board Director search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

LIC is an NZX listed farmer-owned co-operative and world leader in pasture based dairy genetics and herd management. LIC delivers superior genetics and technological innovation to help its shareholders sustainably farm a profitable animal. With origins dating back to 1909, LIC has a long history of developing and delivering world-leading innovations for the dairy industry.

Bringing a successful career in executive technology and digital roles to date, Hamish has worked for significant companies including Kiwibank and Air New Zealand.

Hamish was the Chief Digital and Technology Officer for Kiwibank from 2019 to 2024 where he played a critical leadership role in the successful IT transformation undertaken by the Bank. Following this he was awarded CIO of the Year at the 2024 New Zealand CIO Summit and Awards. Previously, he held the position of Chief Executive Officer for ClearPoint, a privately owned digital experience and engineering company. Hamish spent five years with Air New Zealand in technology related executive roles and nine years overseas working for AIMIA, a diversified Canadian listed company which at the time was a global leader in database and digital marketing.

Hamish is currently a Director of House of Travel Holdings, a member of the NZ Super Fund Data Transformation Steering Committee, and a Board Advisor to Constantinople, an Australian based company providing a complete software and operational platform for banks. He has previously held governance roles with Fidelity Life, Fresho NZ, and 11 Ants Analytics and has been a member of the Prime Minister’s Office Cyber Security Committee.

Hamish holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Property from the University of Auckland. He commenced with LIC on 28th January.
