Livestock Improvement Corporation appoints Blair O’Keeffe as an Independent Director

Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) has appointed Blair O’Keeffe as an Independent Director following a Board Director search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

LIC is a farmer-owned co-operative and world leader in pasture based dairy genetics and herd management. LIC exists to deliver superior genetics and technological innovation to help its shareholders sustainably farm a profitable animal. With origins dating back to 1909, LIC has a long history of developing and delivering world-leading innovations for the dairy industry. The co-op continues to be one of the sector’s biggest private investors in research and development. 

Blair is a former Chief Executive and brings over 25 years of international and local executive experience, paired with broad governance experience, covering multiple sectors including energy, retail, automotive, health, transport, infrastructure, property and regulatory.

Blair is the Chair of NZX listed Napier Port, Chair of Hawke's Bay Regional Recovery Agency, Deputy Chair of Unison Networks, Non-Executive Director at Clarus group of companies, and Chair of Hawkes Bay Rescue Helicopter Trust. He is former Chair of the Crown Entity Maritime NZ and former NED for previously listed Z Energy.

Blair is a member of the Institute of Directors and holds a Postgraduate Degree in Business from Massey University. He has been appointed to the LIC board with immediate effect.
