McGrathNicol NZ has appointed Alton Pollard as a Partner following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

Founded in 2004, McGrathNicol is an independent Trans-Tasman specialist Advisory and Restructuring firm, committed to helping businesses improve performance, manage risk and achieve stability and growth. McGrathNicol NZ is locally owned and operated, and works in concert with McGrathNicol Australia, the owner of the McGrathNicol brand.

Alton is an experienced financial advisor and banker with a broad skillset gained from companies in the UK and New Zealand. For the last five years Alton has been a Director, Head of Debt Advisory & Sustainable Finance at KPMG Auckland. There, he led the two practices and has taken on increasing responsibility for building a portfolio of work and honing his leadership skills. Previously, Alton was Senior Manager Credit – Corporate, Property & Institutional at Westpac NZ where he worked on bank deals including leveraged buyouts, growth funding, refinancing, credit reviews, acquisition and development finance and property investments. Alton’s earlier career was spent at Kaupthing Bank in the UK and Bank of Ireland, after completing six years with ANZ Bank in New Zealand.

Alton holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland. He commenced with McGrathNicol in August.
