Metlifecare appoints Tim Aynsley as Chief Information Officer

Metlifecare has appointed Tim Aynsley as Chief Information Officer following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.
Established in 1984, Metlifecare is now one of New Zealand’s largest owners and operators of retirement villages and communities providing outstanding care to circa 7,000 residents. The company employs over 2,000 staff and has a portfolio of 37 villages located across New Zealand – with a strong development pipeline for future growth.
Tim is a senior technology professional who has led innovation and transformation across a range of sectors. Currently Tim is Head of Technology at Mercury NZ where he is responsible for leading the technology function across both the retail and generation arms of the energy business. Previously, Tim spent eight years with New Zealand’s largest general insurer, IAG, in a number of increasingly senior IT mandates including Director Infrastructure, Core Platforms & Digital and Executive Manager Enterprise Platforms. His earlier career was spent at Spark Digital where he managed large outsourced IT services contracts for complex financial services sector clients.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Business in Information Systems & Technology from the NZ Open Polytechnic and a Bachelor of Physical Education in Science & Physical Education from the University of Otago. He joins Metlifecare in late August.
