MetService appoints Sean Davidson as Chief Digital Officer

MetService are delighted to announce the appointment of Sean Davidson as Chief Digital Officer following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.
MetService are New Zealand's national weather authority, supplying comprehensive weather information services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. With a team of over 300 employees across New Zealand, Australia, Asia, and Europe, MetService provides weather decision-support, actionable weather insights, weather data, and meteorological and oceanographic consulting services.
Sean is a globally experienced IT executive, having held roles in Australia, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong and New Zealand. He is currently the SVP/Head of Digital Platforms and Global Delivery Centre for DEKRA, the parent company of VTNZ in New Zealand, with 44,000 employees in 60 countries. Previously, he was VP Information Technology for Southern Africa and Oceania for DEKRA where he implemented Cloud First and Digital Transformation strategies across the region. Earlier highlights include two years as Chief Information Officer for Aspeq in Wellington, and several years in Asia leading the APAC then the Greater China regions for Getronics.
Sean holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Waikato and an MBA in Information Systems from the University of Southern Queensland. He joins MetService in November.
