Ormiston Hospital & Healthcare appoints Angela Shaw as Chief Executive Officer

Ormiston Hospital & Healthcare has appointed Angela Shaw as Chief Executive Officer following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

Ormiston Hospital & Healthcare is Auckland’s leading private surgical hospital and healthcare facility. Opened in 2009, it is a modern hospital with the latest advancements in medical technology offering 41 inpatient beds, six operating theatres, and two procedure rooms. The business has operated as a Joint Venture with Southern Cross Healthcare since 2012.

Angela brings extensive healthcare and clinical leadership experience from roles across public and private hospitals in New Zealand and internationally. Currently Angela is the General Manager of Epsom Hospital, a 99 bed, seven theatre private hospital within the Allevia Healthcare network. During her tenure she led the development and opening of a new theatre suite complex and implemented initiatives to increase operational efficiencies.

Prior roles of note include Director of Clinical Services at Waipuna Hospice in Tauranga and GM Clinical Services at Braemar Hospital, one of New Zealand’s largest private hospitals. Earlier, Angela was based in Australia and enjoyed tenures at Freemasons Hospital, which operates within the private Epworth HealthCare network, and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne where she held a range of clinical and leadership mandates.

Angela holds a Bachelor of Nursing (Hons) from Griffith University and an MBA from Deakin University. She commences with Ormiston Hospital in late October.
