Refining NZ Appoints James Miller as a Non-Executive Director

Today NZX listed Refining NZ announced the appointment of James Miller as an Independent Director following a search conducted by SEQEL Partners.
James joins the Refining NZ board with 15 years’ experience in capital markets, having retired as a Director and Head of NZ Wholesale Equities with Craigs Investment Partners in 2011. James’ prior roles have also included Head of Equities and Head of Research at ABN AMRO. James held Board and leadership positions at both Craigs Investment Partners and ABN AMRO. James also brings extensive downstream energy sector experience to the Board.
James has extensive Board and governance experience. He is currently chair of NZX Limited, a Director of Accident Compensation Corporation and Mercury NZ Limited. James is also a Director of Auckland International Airport, but will retire on 31 October 2018. He was an inaugural Director of the Financial Markets Authority, previously a Director of Vector, and a member of the INFINZ and Financial Reporting Standards Board.
The Board strongly believes James’ wealth of experience will complement that of his fellow Directors and that his insights from the financial markets will contribute greatly to the Company’s performance and strategy.
James is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Certified Securities Analyst Professional, a member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in the United States of America.
James’ appointment to the Refining NZ Board is effective 1 November 2018.
