Russell McVeagh have announced the appointment of Ben McLaren as Chief Financial Officer following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, Jo Avenell, Ben will lead the Finance and IT functions; partnering with the Board, CEO, Partners and employees of Russell McVeagh. Key areas of focus include financial management, financial control and risk management, strategic planning, capital management and continuous improvement.

Ben has deep experience in leading the Finance and IT functions in professional services environments. He was the Chief Financial Officer at the Australian based Mills Oakley Lawyers from 2011 to 2017, before returning to New Zeeland.  During this time Mills Oakley achieved considerable growth in Partner numbers, revenue and office locations. Most recently, Ben has been the Chief Financial Officer of Generator NZ.

Ben has a Bachelor of Bachelor of Commerce & Administration from Victoria University. He also holds a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting, ICAANZ
