Southern Cross Healthcare appoints Manoj Patel as Chief Transformation Officer
Tuesday 01 February 2022
Southern Cross Healthcare has appointed Manoj Patel as Chief Transformation Officer following a global executive search undertaken by SEQEL Partners.
As New Zealand’s only national network of private hospitals and with a range of joint venture wellbeing partners, Southern Cross Healthcare is well positioned to revolutionise the private health sector and provide outstanding patient experiences and outcomes. To help deliver their strategic aspirations, Manoj Patel will be joining the Executive Leadership Team as Chief Transformation Officer.
Manoj brings a wealth of medical and commercial experience, having trained and worked as a doctor before moving into commercial roles and clinical service delivery both at home and abroad. Manoj was previously with Healthcare Holdings Limited as Director of Medical Services, MercyAscot Private Hospitals and Director of Clinical Innovation. Prior health sector roles were at Elsevier, Expert-24 and Orion Health. Manoj has also gained an MBA from Harvard Business School with a Fulbright Scholarship and he is currently completing his fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators.
He will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing Southern Cross Healthcare’s entry into providing ‘value-based’ care. The concept of value-based healthcare is a delivery model in which providers (including hospitals, medical specialists and other practitioners) work together to help patients improve their long term health, reduce the effects and incidence of chronic disease, and live healthier lives in an evidence-based (measurable) way.
Manoj will be joining Southern Cross Healthcare in April 2022.
