Southern Cross Healthcare has appointed Mark Phillips as Chief Digital Officer following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

As New Zealand’s largest national network of private hospitals, and with a range of joint venture wellbeing partners, Southern Cross Healthcare is well positioned to revolutionise the private health sector and provide outstanding patient experiences and outcomes.

Mark brings a tenured career with Fletcher Building, one of the largest listed companies in New Zealand, initially holding increasingly senior IT mandates within the Distribution (PlaceMakers, Mico and TUMU) and Concrete (Winstone Aggregates, Golden Bay, Firth, and Humes) divisions before moving into his current enterprise role as General Manager Ecommerce. Managing a large team, he is accountable for leading and transforming the complex digital function for the entire Fletcher Building business spanning Ecommerce and customer experience platforms such as apps, CRM systems, customer portals, and call centre systems. As a member of the Technology Senior Leadership Team Mark has also been supporting a programme to uplift Fletcher Building’s cyber security profile.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Management Studies and a Master of Management Studies in HR Management & Strategy, both from the University of Waikato. He joins Southern Cross Healthcare in June.
