
Southern Cross Healthcare appoints Marlise van Staden as General Manager Hamilton Hospital

Southern Cross Healthcare has appointed Marlise van Staden as General Manager Hamilton hospital following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.
Southern Cross Healthcare is New Zealand’s largest private healthcare organisation and has been a trusted part of the New Zealand healthcare system for over 40 years. Comprised of a nationwide network of joint venture and wholly owned hospitals, specialist centres, physiotherapy, rehabilitation and employer health and wellness providers, the not-for-profit continually looks for ways to enhance and support the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders.
Marlise brings a strong career in the private hospital sector across South Africa, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand. Currently Marlise is General Manager of Churchill Private Hospital where she has been responsible for improving the commercial and clinical outcomes. Previously, she was the Nurse Manager at Kaikoura Healthcare and led the 21-bed rest home care, geriatric, maternity and medical hospital reporting to the Rural Nurse Director.
Marlise's career began in her native South Africa where she progressed her nursing career through two large private hospital networks, Netcare and Life Healthcare, ultimately being promoted to Chief Nursing Director. She also spent six years in Saudi Arabia across several large military and private hospitals in Chief Nursing Director mandates.
Marlise joins Southern Cross Healthcare in mid October.
