Southern Cross Healthcare has appointed Richard Paul as General Manager Property and Development following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners. 

As New Zealand’s largest national network of private hospitals, and with a range of joint venture wellbeing partners, Southern Cross Healthcare is well positioned to revolutionise the private health sector and provide outstanding patient experiences and outcomes.

Richard brings extensive experience in the property industry having held senior positions in property consultancy and in-house roles across both New Zealand and international jurisdictions. He was most recently with MediaWorks as the Head of Property and Procurement where he delivered the new HQ, established and managed the national property and facilities management teams, and transacted key owned and leased assets for MediaWorks.

Richard’s previous experience was with the property consultancy JLL as Head of Property and Asset Management. There he was responsible for overseeing a national team managing a significant property portfolio. Prior, he held property, asset and development roles with the privately owned company SouthPark.

In his early career Richard spent four years in Europe working for the Kiwi company AtlantisHealth. He also established his own business running a retail database management company which evolved into private property investment and management in the Hawkes Bay on behalf of his clients.
