Southern Cross Healthcare Ltd has appointed David Simpson as Strategic Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer following an executive search undertaken by SEQEL Partners.

Clinically trained, David brings wide-ranging health sector and commercial experience to SCHL Executive Leadership Team. David joins Southern Cross Healthcare from Accenture Consulting where he has been Head of the NZ Healthcare Practice. His experience spans both sides of the Tasman, having held senior executive roles with Ramsay Healthcare as Head of Strategy & Innovation, and General Manager Health Benefits for Medibank. Closer to home, he has led ACC’s Health Procurement function and was CEO at the Pharmacy Council for NZ.

David has commenced his role, with initial focus on providing additional insight and leadership support to Southern Cross Healthcare’s extensive and ongoing work in planning through the expected surge of Omicron cases in the community.
