Summerset has appointed Chris Lokum as General Manager People & Culture following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners. 

Summerset Group (NZX and ASX) was founded in 1997 and is one of New Zealand's largest and most respected operators in the retirement village and aged care sector. It has 39 retirement villages either complete or under construction, and another five quality land sites in New Zealand and six in Australia, ensuring a strong platform for further growth. 

Chris is a senior human resources professional with over 30 years of experience. She joins Summerset from Waka Kotahi where she is currently Group General Manager for People & Safety. Prior to Waka Kotahi, Chris had a pedigree career with BP across a number of senior positions in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK including as Vice President HR Asia Pacific Fuel and Global Air BP, and HR Director for Australasia Fuels Value Chain.

Chris has a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Waikato, and a Diploma in Social Sciences from Massey University. She joins Summerset in October.
