The Listed Investment Companies (NZX listed funds Kingfish, Barramundi and Marlin Global) announced the appointment of Fiona Oliver as a Non Executive Director, following a board director search process undertaken by SEQEL Partners.  

Fiona is a professional Director and has held governance mandates across a range of business sectors including renewable energy, natural gas, logistics, public sector, technology, and financial services. She is currently a Director of Freightways, Gentrack Group, First Gas Group, BNZ Life Insurance and BNZ Insurance Services.

Fiona was recently recognised with a Beacon Award by the NZ Shareholders Association for the work she conducted on behalf of shareholders in Tilt Renewables. The Independent Directors Committee, led by Fiona, rejected an offer at $2.30 per share in 2018. Three years later Tilt was acquired via a scheme of arrangement at $8.10 per share.

Fiona’s executive career was in the financial services sector in New Zealand and overseas. In New Zealand, her roles included Chief Operating Officer of Westpac’s investment arm, BT Funds Management, and General Manager of AMP NZ’s Wealth Management division. In Sydney and London, Fiona managed the Risk and Operations function for AMP’s private capital division. Prior to this, Fiona was a senior corporate and commercial solicitor in New Zealand and overseas, specialising in mergers and acquisitions.
