The Te Aranga Alliance appoints Rod James as Alliance General Manager

The Te Aranga Alliance are delighted to announce the appointment of Rod James as Alliance General Manager following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.
Te Aranga is an infrastructure and land development alliance made up of Kāinga Ora as Owner Participant and Non-Owner Participants Higgins, Goodmans, Beca, Harrison Grierson, Brian Perry Civil, Orogen and Fletcher Construction. It was established to carry out the Eastern Porirua Regeneration Programme, an $800m project in the Wellington region tasked with improving wellbeing outcomes in the community by delivering approximately 2,300 new or refurbished public homes and 1,500 new market / affordable homes over a 20 - 25 year period. The programme also includes infrastructure renewals and upgrades, new infrastructure, and land development works.
Rod James is a deeply experience Construction leader. After qualifying as a Civil Engineer in Wales Rod spent his early career in the UK. He emigrated to New Zealand in 1996, joining Opus International as Senior Project Manager, before moving to Transit New Zealand. In 2004 Rod joined Hyder Consulting as the Director New Zealand, where over the next 5 years he consulted on various transport and related projects. In 2009 Rod joined NZ Transport Agency (NZTA), where he successfully led multiple projects.
In 2015 Rod was appointed NZ Country Manager for Cardno, a civil engineering and multidisciplinary consulting firm. Rod relocated to Melbourne in 2018 following his appointment as Area Manager. In 2019 he was promoted to the role of General Manager with responsibility for New Zealand and Victoria. Rod returned to Wellington in mid-2020 where upon he joined Waka Kotahi as Programme Director National Land Transport.
Rod will commence as Alliance General Manager for the Te Aranga Alliance on Monday 4th of October.
