
Webjet Group appoints Taras Lee as General Manager Webjet Group NZ

Webjet Group has appointed Taras Lee as General Manager Webjet Group NZ following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.
Webjet Group NZ was initially formed out of a business called Online Republic, established 20 years ago as a search optimisation business for selling cars and campers online. It is now a global specialist in motorhome and car rentals that operates two trusted brands out of New Zealand, Airport Rentals and Motorhome Republic, which enable customers to search, compare, and book rental vehicles worldwide. The business employs circa 140 staff and is part of the ASX listed global travel company, Webjet Group.
Taras brings an international career in publicly listed organisations in the USA and Europe, and more recently in private equity ownership. Over the last nine years, Taras built a career with zooplus, the largest pan-European online pet supplier retailer generating €3 billion in sales. After commencing as a Senior Vendor Manager, he progressed through a series of roles to his current position of Director – Accessories & Non Food Vendor Management & Private Label. There, he is accountable for a €200m business unit and supports a team of 35. The majority of Taras’ previous career was spent with Dominos Pizza in Germany and the USA in a range of mandates including Area & Expansion Manager and Head of Training & Store Development.
Taras holds a Bachelor of Economics in Commerce, Language & Culture from Georgetown College and an MBA from the University of Mannheim and CUHK Business School. He commences with Webjet Group NZ in June.
